 Policies and Guidelines

Registration & Tuition - There is a yearly, non-refundable registration fee of $25 due upon registration of student and at the beginning of the fall schedule for returning students. Tuition is based on a flat fee for the year, not the number of classes per month.

Dress Code - All students must be well groomed and dressed appropriately for dance class. Hair must be in a bun for all classes (students must come with their hair fixed as the staff does not have time between classes to fix their hair for them). Ballet, lyrical, and modern students should have a black camisole leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Jazz students should have a black camisole leotard, black cotton jazz pants, and black jazz shoes. Tap students should have a black camisole leotard, black cotton jazz pants, and black tap shoes. Please note that if your child is not appropriately dressed for class, they will not be allowed to participate.

Attendance - Instructors will be taking attendance in every class. If your child will not be able to attend his or her scheduled class, please contact the studio office in advance. If your child misses 2 consecutive classes and the office has not been contacted, the instructor will follow up with a phone call.

Missed Classes - You must call to report an absence. If you cannot attend a scheduled class, you may make it up in any other class at that level (or one level above with the instructor's permission) within 4 weeks of the absence. We do not give credit towards the next month's tuition for classes missed.

Tardiness - It is necessary that students arrive to class on time to ensure proper warm-up time. Students will not be allowed into class after the first 10 minutes to minimize disruption and it will count as an unexcused absence. If caught in traffic or an emergency, please call the office.

Cancellation - If classes are cancelled due to instructor illness, weather, etc., you will be notified and the class will be rescheduled or a make-up class offered. We follow the North Kitsap School District snow/emergency closures schedule.

General - Parents/Siblings/Friends will not be allowed to observe classes except during parent observation weeks or special mini-performances throughout the year at the studio.

**Absolutely no food, candy, or gum is allowed in the classroom. You may have plain water in a closed container.**

Costume Payment Policy for the Spring Recital - We will have a performance each year in the spring. Costume fees for the Spring show are due by 1/15/2012. Performance fees are due by 3/1/2012.

All accessories, including tights, headpieces, gloves, etc., and any alterations will be an additional charge. Costumes cannot be ordered unless they are paid in full. Once costumes are ordered there will be no refunds.

The performance fee covers the venue, ticket printing, backdrops, sets, props, lighting staff, posters, advertising, and many other incidentals that crop up.

Dress Rehearsal Policy - A mandatory dress rehearsal will be held for the Spring show. All students must rehearse all their numbers at the dress rehearsal or they will not be permitted to perform in the performance. Students must bring their entire costume, including tights, make-up, and shoes. Dress rehearsal and performances are considered class time.
